Who are we?

IPKO Foundation is a non-profit foundation in Kosovo that supports the development of future generations of leaders who use technology to implement innovative solutions to local and national development challenges, while enabling an environment where they can reach their full potential through an improved policy and institutional context. We are known by partners for being creative, competent, responsible, collaborative, and trusted to undertake initiatives that create sustainable solutions. Our work is at the nexus of public institutions, the private sector, and non-governmental entities.

Main projects of IPKO Foundation are:

DOKUTECH – a yearly tech conference for 11 years aims to aid development of the tech landscape in Kosovo, combined with the will and courage to create an atmosphere for technological growth by bringing the opportunity of listening to international speakers, entertain groundbreaking ideas, and challenging the audience's knowledge and points of view on technology, online security, and content openness.  DOKU.TECH conveys speakers from different backgrounds in technology, social entrepreneurship, and groundbreaking ideas in tech, in front of an eager audience. From simple, modest social entrepreneurs to people who want to bring down global irresponsible companies.

Girls in ICT –The Celebration of Girls in ICT Day is an initiative of ITU and is marked in more than 100 countries around the world on the last Thursday of April. IPKO Foundation hosts this conference to encourage young women and girls in Kosovo to break the stereotypes and pursue careers in the ICT sector. Some of the factors that may prevent women’s involvement in the ICT sector in Kosovo are the cultural stereotypes, internal barriers, lack of financial means, access to education, etc. With the ICT sector developing day by day, and an increasing demand for human resource capacity, there is a lot of room for improvement in female’s involvement in the ICT sector. The conference is being organized for 9 years now and entails the main conference of “Girls in ICT” with inspirational speeches and panel discussion, workshops in the field of ICT and the job Fair which aims to facilitate the participation of over 300 young women.
