DOKU.TECH 2020 | Make It, Break It, Build It, Share It |

This year DOKU.TECH held its seventh edition, on the 15th of August, during the short documentary festival, DOKUFEST. The conference explored the challenges and social implications of technological innovations through connectivity, content, and exploration while inspiring youngsters by sharing knowledge and experiences.

In 2020 during DOKU.TECH, we have discussed how we can reduce, reuse, repair, rebuild, refurbish, refinish, resell, recycle while at the same problems and meeting the needs of people around the world.

It seems that everywhere we turn we are being warned that we are on the brink of a catastrophe. Income inequality, mass migration, pandemic, climate change, population growth, food insecurity - the list never ends. In the 20th century, countries around the world tried to industrialize their way out of these challenges. In the 21st century, they are trying to innovate their way out. Although progress is made with each generation, new challenges emerge as a check against the perfectibility of humanity.

DOKU.TECH 2020 ONLINE edition brought two local speakers, who encompassed a variety of topics, view points, and personal anecdotes within their speeches, that are related to this year's theme: Make it, Break it, Build it, Share it”. Our speakers inspired us to find ways to relate to technology in a way that betters our lives and enhances our experiences and therefore encouraged us to create technology that can do just that. Our speakers: Leke Zherka and Rron Cena took us through their journey of ideating, creating, and releasing their innovation products which would help healthcare professionals in their fight against COVID-19. It is amazing what a group of young people can achieve even in a country like Kosovo with limited resources.
