RobotiKS – The Place where Technology and Excitement met

The annual stimulating camp which requires from kids to use their logic and creative skills to create simple robots was held on 22-26 June in four regions in Kosovo: Prishtina, Gjakova, Mitrovica, and Obiliq, which gathered more than 100 creative participants from high schools.

This year, RobotiKS was a “meeting” of enthusiasts, innovators, and hardworking youngsters who for five days were committed to create LEGO Robots by using their imagination and a little bit of guidance! This competition offered exciting challenges for the participants, who worked as teams and, by the end of the activity, each of them proudly presented their creations in front of their friends.

In Prishtina, the activity took place in “Shkolla Model” Elementary and Lower Middle School, where 37 students took part in this modern, yet challenging, event during the week of June 22-26, 2015, all of whom had the opportunity to learn more on LEGO robots and Programming.

RobotiKS was also an academy for the youngsters, where they gained new knowledge in the field of technology and electronics through several workshops from their mentors, who assisted them through all the process.

In addition, in between the hard work, students also had the opportunity to play and socialize with each-other in order to relax and exchange ideas.

RobotiKS came as a result of the partnership in between IPKO Foundation, USAID Kosovo Basic Education Program, and the Municipality of Prishtina and aims to offer educational solutions that allow children to learn in an efficient and amusing way.
