The Path To Completion

Mathematics has been said to be the queen of all sciences, the language of nature and the universe and nothing confirms this idea more than studying it further. The beauty of mathematics is what made me start to study it, I wanted nothing more than to explore every nook and cranny that the world of mathematics had to offer. I wanted to know every possible application of it starting from the obvious like technology and economics to more obscure ones like mapping of music patterns to predict which songs will be catchy. What fascinates me the most is the philosophy of mathematics, the idea that only absolute truths are acceptable and starting with some very simple rules you can build unbelievably complex and perfect systems.

Needless to say that I love mathematics and choosing what to study was not a really hard choice. I started university with a very pure enthusiasm, it took a while to get used to the system but once I did things went pretty smoothly during my first year, I truly thought I was good at it. One day I stopped to think and realized that all I got good at was memorizing stuff until my next exam and spewing those memorized lines all over the exam sheet, I noticed that I was not encouraged to learn but to replicate, this realization hit me really hard and made me feel empty inside. I knew of the greatness of mathematics and I was determined to explore it, the problem was that the university was a priority and I did not have enough luxury money to spend on my fascination.
