Code Sprint Prishtina starts today- meet the mentors

Today is the official opening ceremony of the Code Sprint Prishtina. During the 48-hour code sprints the finalist teams will be paired with technologists and develop the beta version of their platforms, sites and/or applications and make them ready for launch right after the code sprint. Another round of public voting will follow Code Sprint and three best developed projects will be chosen to receive a grant of $5000 and tech support to ensure a successful start to their project. During the Code Sprint teams will have the opportunity to get feedback and technical assistance from the excellent mentors.

Alicja Peszkowska
Alicja coorganized and spoke at many international events devoted to the topic of technology for social change — SHARE in Belgrade, POINT in Sarajevo, Nonprofit Technology Conference in Washington DC and the Open Knowledge Festival in Helsinki among others.

Çelik Nimani
An experienced manager with a strong entrepreneurial and marketing background in the Digital Industry. One of the key persons behind the establishment of the first business incubator in Kosovo, Innovation Centre Kosovo, working directly with startups, entrepreneurs and professionals.

 

 

Arbnor Hasani
Arbnor is currently involved with the Innovations Lab in Kosovo at the Design Center. He coordinates and oversees a team of several students and software developers and is in charge of researching open source technology solutions for various institutional bottlenecks in protecting and serving youth and children of Kosovo. He finished his masters degree in computer science at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. His interests vary across different fields related to Internet and Web Technologies. He is also a published co-author of a paper on privacy in social networks in an international ACM Conference.

 

 

 

 

Mentor Paçarada
Mentor is founder of Frakton, an interactive company that develops web, apps and games, most known for the viral game Haluci. Mentor also co-founded Berthama and Trigonom, companies dedicated for new application integration as well a social network platform for sharing, exchanging and managing business cards called Visitcard.me. His passion is to build useful addictive innovative app for new markets.

 

Kushtrim Sogojeva
10 year brand builder on strategic brand development.Founder and Creative Director at Trokit Agency Creative, an international award-winning full service brand development, web and design firm in Kosovo and Switzerland. Founder of Logo.al the biggest brand platform in Albania and Kosovo.

 

 

 

Visar Mullafetah
Visar has been working in Innovations Lab Kosovo as a Software Developer Consultant for more than a year now. During his time there he has developed the Birth Registration application using the RapidSMS platform, various data visualization tools using D3 and High-charts libraries, and mentored interns in different types of projects using OpenSource tools. He is very passionate about OpenSource technologies, User/Human Centered Design, and Tech4Dev projects. Graduated from American University in Bulgaria, with a double major in Computer Science and Information Systems. He also has developed an e-commerce web application for a liquor store in US. He believes that technology can tackle many of our social challenges, by deriving, structuring and visualizing information.
